Meyer is originally from Iowa and was a standout setter at Pleasant Valley High School (maiden name Rockey). She began coaching at her alma mater under the guidance of her mentor and former coach Stacey Ruff. Meyer has seven total years of high school coaching at the JV, Freshman and Varsity levels. Her teams made three state championship appearances, winning the 5A state title in 2021.

Meyer began coaching club at Pleasant Valley Volleyball Club before make the move in 2019 to nationally renown Iowa Rockets Volleyball Club. Meyer spent four years with the Rockets as both a head and assistant coach at the 13s and 14s age levels. During that time her teams earned three USAV bids and, most recently, a 5th place finish in the National division at the 2022 USAV Girls' Junior Nationals.

Meyer attended the University of Iowa, earning a BA in Human Physiology in 2016. Meyer continued her education at St. Ambrose University where she earned a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. She practices Pediatric Occupational Therapy in the Triangle area. She and her husband, Alex, live in Durham with their dog Nash.
