Kent joined the Triangle coaching staff in 2020 with over 10 years of youth coaching experience in the Triangle area. In total, Kent has coached over 40 different teams in three different sports (volleyball, basketball, and soccer). Before coming to Triangle, Kent coached two years at NC Elite. Rob has coached over 25 youth volleyball teams, with student-athletes ranging in age from 7 to 16 years old. His youth volleyball teams have won multiple regular season and tournament championships.

Whether on the court or at work, he has a passion for building and empowering teams to compete. He loves inspiring players to reach their potential on a mental and physical level and instills a “What’s Next?” culture in their approach to the game.

Kent is originally from Alexandria Bay, NY. In high school, he was a two-sport varsity student-athlete lettering in basketball and football. Rob graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management Science in 1995 and moved south to Raleigh, NC the following year. In 2008, he successfully completed a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University. Rob currently works for American Express as a Senior Manager on their Payment Designation Team supporting merchant and partner growth globally. He lives in Morrisville with his wife and two daughters.
