Lauren Giles

Originally from Missouri, Giles (Sazama) was a dual sport prep athlete playing volleyball and swimming for Oakville High School. She attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania where she played four years and finished as the all-time points leader in Gannon history. She was selected as a Daktronics All-American, PSAC Player of the Year, and NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Player of the Year, She was also a four year All-Conference and three year All-Region honoree. Upon graduation from Gannon with a Communications degree she spent a year living and teaching in China. Upon return to the states Giles attended Edgewood College (D3) and served as a graduate volleyball assistant for the Eagles. After earning her advanced degree in K-5 Cross Categorical Resource/Special Education Giles made her way to North Carolina.

Giles also coached varsity high school volleyball at Gray’s Creek High School in Hope Mills. After spending two years in Fayetteville, Giles and her husband, William moved to Fuquay-Varina where she serves as a special education teacher in the Wake County Public School System.
