Julianne (Juli) Peters

Peters hails from Fuquay-Varina and is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School, where she lettered for four years in volleyball as a pin attacker and setter. She was the recipient of the 2015 NCHSAA 4A Sportsmanship Award and won state championships all four years at Cardinal Gibbons. Peters also competed for seven years with Triangle and during that time reached the finals match of 28 tournaments, including four national tournaments and six Carolina Region Championship tournaments. She was also a two-time All Carolina Region selection.

Peters continued her athletic career at the University of North Carolina, where she was a student-athlete on the Varsity Women's Rowing team. As a rower, Peters was the stroke seat for the 3V8 who was named ACC Crew of the Week in the spring of 2018, as well as the V4 who was named ACC Crew of the Week in the spring of 2019. She was also a member of the V8 that had a historic finish at the 2019 ACC Championship. Peters was named a CRCA Scholar Athlete in 2019 and 2020, and is a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree. In her spare time at UNC, she served as a volunteer piano instructor for the UNC chapter of Musical Empowerment, and as an assistant trainer with the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center's Get Real and Heel program. In 2020 Peters graduated with distinction from UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science and Psychology with a minor in Biology. 

Peters has been coaching at Triangle since 2015, working primarily with the 12's program and Triangle's camps and clinics. Aside from volleyball, she is also an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Peters is now in her second year of Duke University School of Medicine’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
