Fiona (Cunningham) Collichio

Originally from Chapel Hill, Cunningham played high school volleyball at Chapel Hill High. She earned All-Conference honors and received the school’s Tiger award. She played club throughout high school including two years at Triangle Volleyball Club. Cunningham was recruited to Wofford College and ultimately transferred to UNC-Asheville. For two seasons she made multiple appearances for the Bulldogs in the setter position until she was sidelined with an injury.

Cunningham has continued to learn the game; first as a manager at UNC-Asheville and as a head coach at Biltmore Volleyball Academy. She has also served two years as a middle school head coach and coached one year at Cape Fear Volleyball Club. She is the current head coach at Cedar Ridge High School where she is a 2-time Conference Coach of the Year and lead Cedar Ridge to a NCHSAA 3A state championship in 2021. She was nominated for the 2022 NC Female Coach of the Year. 

Cunningham graduated UNC-Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness Promotion. She joined Teach For America and completed a 2-year commitment through Americorp to teach in an underserved region of NC. Cunningham and her husband, Dominic have recently relocated back to the Chapel Hill area and working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at UNC hospital in pediatric pulmonology.
